Laura Elo
I have been capturing moments where time stands still across the world for nearly three decades. My work revolves around recurring themes such as The World Is One, In the Shades of Silence, and frozen moments in time — presence, gratitude, and the small wonders of life.
My practice is guided by visual storytelling, through which I seek meaning, atmosphere, and human connection through images.
I began photographing at a young age, initially capturing the world around me out of pure passion and personal curiosity. Later, I transitioned into professional practice and studied photography at the New York Film Academy. I am a member of the Association of Photographers in Finland and WIFT Finland (Women in Film & Television).
Alongside my artistic work, I work in television formats, where visual thinking, storytelling, and project management support my creative practice. Since 2015, I have worked from Helsinki as a photographer, educator, and spatial designer through my own company See and Feel Spatial Design, which combines visual sensitivity with spatial thinking. Previously, I had a long international career at Marimekko as Head of Development and Training.
My work has been exhibited in galleries, published in books, and featured on television, moving between visual storytelling, fine art photography, documentary expression, and portraiture.
Frames with a history
Fine art prints ordered from my webshop are produced by Dialab, a leading Finnish fine art print production studio. All works are available as framed, numbered editions, and selected works can also be ordered as unnumbered art prints.
